2010 Quantitative Analysis of Teaching and Learning in Business, Economics and Commerce Forum

The Faculty of Business and Economics at the University and Melbourne will hold the 6th annual forum entitled:
“The Quantitative Analysis of Teaching and Learning in Business, Economics and Commerce” on 12 February 2010.

THE FEBRUARY 2010 CONFERENCE WILL HOST PAPERS ON THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:

  • The Prediction of Exam Aegrotats Using the Nearest Neighbour Method
  • The Effect of Prior-Learning and Ethnic Biases in Principles of Economics
  • Postgraduate Student Engagement with the Subject: Revelation of Factors Influencing Student Success
  • Student Performance in Econometrics: Do Prerequisites Matter?
  • A Causality Test of the Learning Approach and Students’ Perception of Learning Context in Economics Education
  • The Determinants of Academic Performance in First-Year University Economics: The Importance of Prior Knowledge in Economics
  • Innovative Teaching Practices to Produce Innovative Graduates: A Framework
  • The Matching of Quality of Teaching Indicators and the Course Evaluation Questionnaire

The Quantitative Forum in commerce disciplines is a joint initiative of the Teaching and Learning Unit (TLU) and the Department of Economics in the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of MelbourneS. It is now in its sixth year and regularly attracts between 80 and 100 participants from around 38 universities in the Australasian region. Presenters have their accommodation and airfare paid, and accepted papers are published in the refereed Forum proceedings.
