Filming and editing

The TLU can assist in filming and editing of the educational material, such as case studies, guest lectures, seminars, interviews, and training sessions (including online training). We can also help with filming short videos and educational documentaries. The material is filmed using professional equipment, and can be edited and exported to a variety of formats.

We can help arrange for these videos to be hosted on the QuickTime streaming server (provided by Information Services). Note that no technical support is provided and off-campus access requires that staff/students log in using their University of Melbourne account. Most of the streaming content is copyrighted. The links to streaming content can be placed directly onto the LMS subject page.

Note that our video editing service operates on a cost-recovery basis to cover the significant amount of time required to process and edit recorded video, and various other expenses incurred (such as equipment maintenance and the purchase of DV tapes).

The TLU has prepared a pamphlet listing issues to consider when planning to undertake filming in the Faculty. Topics covered in the pamphlet include scripting, location planning and scouting, setup and rehearsals, what to wear when being interviewed, editing, post-production, and more.

Please email Jenny Pesina (jpesina@unimelb.edu.au), or telephone 03 8344 3460 to book. The booking should be made at least one week ahead.
